What is Motion Detection and How Does It Work ?

 Motion detection is one of the important tools for protecting your home or workplace. Alerts you when someone enters the designated areas without permission. When you turn on motion detection, you select specific regions to control. The principle of operation of this feature is based on comparing successive images from the video, and if sufficient pixel changes occur in these frames, the camera software understands that some objects are moving and warns you. Motion detection can be customized based on camera sensitivity and percentage levels to adjust. These settings can be made easy for motion detection programs. 

 

How motion detection WorksThe sensitivity level examines the change in brightness and darkness ratio in pixels. While the low level of sensitivity requires larger changes, such as turning on the lights in the darkroom; the high sensitivity level is based on smaller changes to activate the alarm. On the other hand, when the percentage level is set to large, small objects moving in the displayed area are ignored, alerting you when objects the size of human beings move. 

 

It may take a short amount of work and time to find the balance in motion detection and prevent false alarms. When making the necessary adjustments after installation of IP cameras or analog cameras, you can test motion detection by making someone walk where the camera is viewing. In addition to walking, you can make adjustments and avoid unnecessary alarms by moving your pets in the displayed area. These procedures may take some time. However, as a result of your work, securing it will save you time to be alerted to any intrusion into the areas you wish to secure and to take the necessary precautions, so it will be worth your effort.
